Vanessa has been fishing since a very young age. However, fly fishing seemed mythical to her and felt out of reach.

During a break from her medical studies, Vanessa made the leap to fly fishing. From her first steps into the river, a flame ignited within her, and her passion has been fueled ever since. Fly fishing became her therapy. The power of the water, the present moment, the delicacy and precision of her casts blending with nature allow her to reconnect with the essence of life.

When she's not working, she can be found fishing somewhere! She started competing by participating in the 2nd Canadian Women's National Fly Fishing Championship in April 2023 to refine her techniques and meet other women who share her passion. In September 2024, she took part in the 3rd Women’s National Championship, where she was able to showcase her fishing and leadership skills.
