Marie-Lou Néron

Originally from Quebec, Marie-Lou’s passion for fishing began at a young age, casting lines in rivers and lakes that ignited her lifelong love for the sport. Now based in the Rockies, she’s been fly fishing for over 8 years, with a special fondness for the Bow River and the breathtaking waters around Canmore and Banff. Whether casting on the Bow, Highwood, Old Man, or Crowsnest Rivers, or exploring the wild beauty of Kananaskis, Marie-Lou is all about the journey—embracing the landscapes, connecting with nature, and meeting new people along the way.

Competing in the 2024 Women’s National Fly Fishing Championship in Rocky Mountain House was a highlight, allowing Marie-Lou to connect with incredible anglers and build lasting connections—proof that fishing is as much about the community as it is about the catch.

For Marie-Lou, fly fishing is a mix of adventure, relaxation, and fun. It’s about enjoying the stillness of nature, learning new skills, and making memories. With a deep commitment to environmental conservation, Marie-Lou embraces every cast with a love for the outdoors and a passion for preserving it. Living the dream, one cast at a time.
